Loboc River lunch was a highlight
Floating down the Loboc River near Bohol on a bamboo raft while a local band plays and fresh Filipino food is laid out around you — it's a uniquely wonderful experience. The river scenery is lush and beautiful. Highly recommend adding this to any itinerary here.
Tarsiers are absolutely precious
Seeing tarsiers in their natural habitat around Bohol was such a special experience. They're impossibly small and those enormous eyes are the most endearing thing. The sanctuary is run responsibly and our guide made sure we maintained quiet and respectful distance throughout.
Perfect countryside tour
The Bohol day tour covered everything beautifully. Chocolate Hills at sunrise, tarsier sanctuary, Loboc River lunch cruise, and the hanging bridge. Each stop was fascinating in its own way. Our guide Mang Tony was hilarious and encyclopedic in his knowledge. Excellent value.
Firefly watching was magical
The firefly watching cruise along the river near Bohol at dusk was a magical surprise I didn't know was part of the package. Hundreds of fireflies illuminating the mangroves looked like a living constellation. A beautiful, unexpected moment. This trip was full of those.
Beautiful island, warm people
The beaches near Bohol are gorgeous — white sand, clear warm water, and far fewer crowds than the more famous beach destinations. The people are exceptionally friendly and proud of their home. Dolphin watching at dawn was an incredible bonus we didn't expect.
