Eden Nature Park was unexpected
I wasn't expecting much from Eden Nature Park near Davao based on the name, but it completely surprised me. The grounds are beautiful, the cable car views are stunning, and there's far more to do and see than you'd expect. A really lovely half-day addition to any itinerary here.
Durian was an adventure!
Our guide insisted we try Durian in Davao, and after initial hesitation it was actually delicious! The markets here are extraordinary — tropical fruit varieties I'd never seen before. The combination of food culture, wildlife, and natural beauty makes this destination very special.
Philippine Eagle Center is incredible
Seeing the Philippine Eagle up close near Davao is a genuinely moving experience. These critically endangered birds are magnificent and the conservation work done here is so important. Our guide explained the ecology and conservation challenges clearly. Eden Nature Park afterward was equally beautiful.
Great city and incredible surroundings
Davao has an impressive energy — well-organized, clean, and with an excellent food scene. But the surrounding nature is what truly sets it apart. From highland nature parks to stunning island beaches, the day trips covered a remarkable range of experiences.
Samal Island was a beautiful surprise
I didn't expect the beaches near Davao to be so pristine but Samal Island completely blew me away. Crystal clear water, fine white sand, and far fewer crowds than the famous beach destinations. The ferry from the main city is quick and easy. A genuine hidden gem.
