We had cloud cover in the morning at Legazpi but our patient guide waited and the sky cleared beautifully around midday. The full cone revealed against a blue sky was spectacular. The Cagsawa ruins in the foreground is one of the most iconic views in the Philippines.

Bicol is criminally underrated

Legazpi is such an underrated travel destination. Beyond the volcano, the food (real Bicol Express is life-changing!), the beaches, and the warmth of the people make this region exceptional. This package showed us the very best of it. We'll definitely be back.

The view of Mayon Volcano from the Legazpi area, especially from the Cagsawa ruins as the light turned golden, is genuinely one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. No filter needed. No amount of editing could improve on nature's own composition at that moment.

The ATV tour around the Mayon lava fields near Legazpi is one of the most exhilarating activities I've ever done. The hardened lava landscape looks like something from another planet entirely. Our guide kept us safe while maximizing the fun. An absolutely unforgettable experience.
